About Us.

In Romanian culture, there is no gathering that doesn’t include food. A homecooked meal (and a little bit of tuica!) brings together friends, families, and strangers. Stories are shared, and no one leaves hungry. In Romania, eating out at restaurants is not as common as in America, and home cooking is still a staple of Romanian life. Homes are always full of the smells of sarmale, mici, and ciorba.

Our Story

European Taste is owned by the husband-wife team of Adrian and Ligia Sava. Both are from Brasov, an old city in the heart of Transylvania.

Before opening European Taste, Ligia worked as a chemist and Adrian as a mechanical engineer. But it was always Ligia’s dream to own a restaurant and share her love of cooking! Finally, in March of 2012, we decided to follow that dream and opened European Taste- a taste of Romania!

We prepare meals the same way we would if you were coming over to our house in Brasov for dinner – everything is made from scratch based on traditional recipes. It’s a truly homemade experience!

We also serve Hungarian, French, Italian, and German inspired dishes, plus whatever else Ligia, our chemist chef extraordinaire dreams up. Oh- and don’t forget the homemade deserts.

In March 2012 we decided to open European Taste restaurant to offer to our customers a taste of Romania.
